Bus: Several Real Auto Ônibus bus lines (Tel: (21) 303 567 00; Internet: www.realautoonibus.com.br) run into the city center of Rio de Janeiro.
The 2018 line runs every half hour from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. from the airport to the central bus station in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, with stops at Santos Dumont Airport and the southern districts along the coast. The end station is the Alvorada Bus Terminal in Barra da Tijuca.
Line 2918 also runs on a somewhat shorter route to the Alvorada Bus Terminal.
Line 2145 is a fast connection between Galeão and Santos Dumont Airport with a stop at the central bus station and other destinations in the city center of Rio de Janeiro. The bus runs every 20 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Ticket offices are located in the arrivals area of both terminals.
The line 761-D of the provider Empresa 1001 (Tel: (21) 400 450 01; Internet: www.autoviacao1001.com.br) runs from the airport to Niterói.
Gol Airlines (Internet: www.voegol.com.br) offers its guests a free bus transfer between Galeão and Jacarepaguá Airport near Barra da Tijuca.

Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport; it is recommended that you ignore the RDE taxi counter and instead go to the State Tourism Authority’s counter, where you can purchase taxi tickets in advance (cost around US $ 15, journey time: around 20 minutes) .).
