Font Point National Historic Site

Constructed by the U.s Army corps to prevent the entrance of a hostile fleet into San Francisco Bay, Fort Point National Historic Site is now visited by more than 1.5 million people every year. During WW2 the fort was occupied by 100 soldiers who manned rapid fire cannons Designated as a National Historic Site in 1970.
