Conditions as of Thursday, October 19, 2006:
Fishing and boating: The dock at the upper boat landing has been removed for the
season. The landing is still open. Panfish are biting along the wing dams.
Campground: The shower/flush toilet building has been closed for the season.
Drinking water is available at the Park Office. The dump station is open but no
water for flushing tanks is available. Reservations are accepted through October
31.
To help protect Wisconsin's parks and forests from harmful insects and diseases
that can hitchhike here on firewood, the Department of Natural Resources now
prohibits bringing firewood onto any state park if that wood originated outside
of Wisconsin. The park has firewood available from a local vendor at reasonable
prices. Any downed wood in the park may be burned at campsites.
Hunting: Duck season will be open from October 14 through December 14. Hunting
is allowed in the backwaters, so campers should be prepared to hear gun shots
during that time.
