Thetford Hill State Park is another state park developed by the Civilian
Conservation Corps (CCC). During the 1930s, the CCCs built fireplaces, tables, a
toilet building, and the main road in the park. The camp area and picnic area
presents a great opportunity for quiet and secluded camping and picniking. The
park is known for the world class trail system used for running and x-country
skiing.
There is one camping loop with 14 tent sites and 2 lean-to sites. One rest room
with running water and hot showers ($) are located in this area. Fireplaces and
tables are found further up the road.
Area Attractions: Quechee Gorge, Quechee; VINS Nature Center, Quechee; White
River Junction; Atlantic Salmon Fish Ladder, Wilder; and summer theaters,
Hanover NH, and White River Junction.
