Set in the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, 1,140-acre Henry Horton State Park
is located on the former estate of the late Henry H. Horton, 36th governor of
Tennessee. Located on the shores of the historic Duck River, the park provides
hours of recreational enjoyment for the day or a weekend getaway in picturesque,
pastoral Middle Tennessee.
Cabins
Henry Horton Park features seven modern cabins designed to sleep six persons
each. All are fully equipped for housekeeping, food preparations, and serving.
They are air conditioned, have fireplaces, televisions and telephones.
There is a two night minimum stay and may be reserved for a week at a time only
in the summer.
Camping
Notice: In an effort to improve our service, one of our two Campground
Bathhouses will be closed for renovation for a brief period beginning in May.

Henry Horton State Park provides 75 campsites situated along the Duck River,
designated a state scenic river. Twenty-one sites are primitive camp sites
recommended for tents only. There is a large group site for primitive camping.
The other 54 sites have tables, grills, water spigots and electrical hook-ups.
Campers are served by two modern bathhouses (one closed for renovation) and a
dump station for self-contained trailer rigs.
All campsites are available on a first come-first served basis. Campers can set
up on vacant sites and a seasonal camp attendant or Park Ranger will visit to
the site to register users, usually in the late afternoon. The stay limit is two
weeks.
Conference Facility
The Conference/Meeting Lodge can accommodate 160 people when arranged classroom
style or 200 arranged in the theater style. Kitchen facilities are available at
the lodge.

Park Inn
Horton Inn provides 72 units, including four suites with kitchenettes. Each unit
has two double beds. All rooms are carpeted, air-conditioned, and equipped with
TV's and phones. The inn is very popular with golfers, vacationing families,
conferences, and small conventions.

Picnic Facilities
Henry Horton has 83 picnic sites in a very scenic picnic area located on the
shores of the Duck River. Tables and grills are provided and water, restrooms,
playgrounds, and playfields are located nearby.
There are 4 large group picnic pavilions located nearby, capable of
accommodating 125 people and equipped with grills and water spigots.

Restaurant
The restaurant at Henry Horton has a seating capacity of 350 persons and
includes three private dining rooms.
* Breakfast is served Monday-Sunday from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
* Lunch is served Monday-Sunday from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
* Dinner is served Wednesday-Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Swimming
The park has an olympic-sized pool with bathhouses and a concession stand. The
pool is open from Memorial Day week-end through Labor Day. Ample sunbathing
space is provided with the pool area, and there is a wading pool for the
kiddies. Lifeguards are on duty during swimming hours. Registered cabin guests
swim free.
Camping guests swim at discounted rate with a camping receipt.
Gift Shop
The gift shop offers a wide assortment of gifts, collectibles and souvenirs. You
can choose from a variety of items such as a cap and t-shirt to a crystal
ornament or a walking stick hand crafted in Tennessee, picture frames, magnets,
mugs, and plush animals for the kids. And if you have forgotten your toothbrush,
we have that too! Please come in, browse and enjoy.
Other Activities
Activities to enjoy at the park include volleyball, disc golf, baseball,
basketball court, tennis and playground.
Professional Trap and Skeet Range:
Enjoyed by target enthusiasts for more than 40 years, the Trap and Skeet Range
at Henry Horton offers Trap, Skeet, Crazy Quail and 5-Stand. New this year are
the Crazy Quail and 5-Stand games to challenge the marksmanship of shooters
across the region.
Prices are $3.50 per round (1 round = 25 targets) for Trap, Skeet and Crazy
Quail. The price for a game of 5-Stand is $5.50 per round. The Trap and Skeet
Range at Henry Horton is open Wednesday thru Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to about 30
minutes before dark. The range is closed Monday and Tuesday.
There are five skeet fields, 2 trap fields, lodge building with concessions, gun
rental and ammo available. A picnic shelter is available for large shoots or
related gatherings. No pullers provided. Must be 18 years of age or youth
sportsman. A valid hunter education card required for shooters under the age of
