Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach

Manager's Message

Our 9.6 acre marsh restoration project is at the half-way mark with completion scheduled in January. So far, 7,000 Native marsh plants have been planted. Many species of wading birds are already making use of the area, along with a pair of otters that are checking out the area as a possible residence!
The cool weather has finally arrived, but we are still painfully short of rain, so please note the fire ban that is in effect for us and this part of Florida.
Also, after 30 years of service, I am retiring. It has been an honor to serve you and your families. As Bob Hope would say, "Thanks for the memories." Barbara Roberts will be the new Park Manager here starting December 1. She is an outstanding and experienced park person who will be a true asset to Gamble Rogers Memorial SRA., so be sure to welcome her when you visit.
Please keep the men and women of our armed forces close to your heart, who stand the watch for our freedom.
- Michael Evans, Park Manager
Welcome to Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, this windswept park is named for Florida folk singer Gamble Rogers and railroad entrepreneur Henry Flagler. The beach is the most popular feature at this park, where visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or beachcombing. The daily low tide is an ideal time to observe shore birds feeding in tidal ponds; summer months bring sea turtles who lay their eggs in the golden-brown sand. On the Intracoastal Waterway side of the park, picnic pavilions provide a shady place to enjoy a meal. A nature trail winds through a shady coastal forest of scrub oaks and saw palmetto. Boaters and canoeists can launch from a boat ramp on the Intracoastal Waterway. The park's full-facility campground overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is just a short walk along a boardwalk from the beach. Located in Flagler Beach off Highway A1A.
