Manager's Message
We would like to invite you to visit Caladesi Island State Park. From 3 miles of
nature trail and a 108-slip marina to the 2nd best natural beach in the Nation,
Caladesi Island has something for everyone. Picnic pavilions, bathhouses, and a
park concession all make the visit more comfortable. Fishing, shelling, and
nature studies are all ways to further enjoy a visit to Caladesi Island State
Park. From Channel marker #14, just west of Dunedin Causeway Bridge, take an
approximately 212-degree heading on your compass for approximately 1-mile.
Follow the channel markers into Caladesi Island State Park marina. If you like,
there is a ferry service available that leaves from near-by Honeymoon Island
State Park. The ferry operates daily, weather permitting, beginning at 10:00 AM;
no pets on the ferry please.
Fall is upon us and we are pleased to say that we saw two sea turtle nests hatch
out and head off to open water as well as a successful season for our nesting
shorebirds.
