Group Campsites
Details
In accordance with Voyageurs� General Management Plan, the park developed two
30-person group campsites in 2005. One site is on Rainy Lake and the other site
is on Kabetogama Lake. Each group campsite has seven tent pads, four food
lockers, one enclosed unisex comfort station with vault toilet, docking for
eight to ten boats, two fire rings, picnic tables, and scenic vistas. Each site
has a wheelchair-accessible core area with accompanying facilities. Who can use
a group campsite and when? June 11, 2006 to September 17, 2006 - overnight
permit required - groups of 14 to 30 people with a reservation - groups of any
size, up to 30 people, who want to use the site that day (site must be
available; check-in at visitor center required; no online reservation needed)

of any size, up to 30 people Is there a fee to use the sites? In 2006, there is
no fee to use the group campsites. When can the site be reserved? Visitors can
make reservations year-round for the current calendar year. The sites are by
reservation only from June 11, 2006 through September 17, 2006. The rest of the
year, the sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. How far in
advance does a group have to make a reservation? You must make your reservation

Details
On the four large lakes, the park has 215 individual tent camping, houseboat, or
day use sites. Voyageurs offers overnight tent sites for a single party with
tent pads, fire ring, picnic table, privy, food locker, and mooring aids.
Overnight houseboats sites have a fire ring and mooring aids. Day use sites can
accommodate two separate parties and have picnic tables, fire rings, and a
privy. All overnight sites and most day use sites are accessible only by boat.

All overnight stays in the park require a permit. Permits can be obtained at
park visitor centers and boat launches. One permit per party per overnight stay
is required.

Details
Kettle Falls Hotel has rooms furnished with Kettle Falls antiques. Villas
available in units, kitchenettes, and suites. Boats and motors, canoes, and
kayaks are available for rent. Fishing licenses, border crossing permit forms,
boat portaging, guide service, fishing tackle, cleaning facilities, and other

Getting There
Plane
Air travelers can take advantage of the International Falls, MN or Hibbing, MN
airports. Rental cars and hotel shuttles are available at the airports.
Car
Voyageurs is 5 hours North of Minneapolis-St. Paul on I-35 and Hwy 53, 3 hours
North of Duluth on Hwy 53, and 4 hours from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Getting Around
Voyageurs National Park is over 1/3 water. Most trails and all campsites are
accessible by a boat.
