Licensing Rules in Wyoming

No state HVACR license required. However, Wyoming does issue a limited technician's license for heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.

To apply for a limited technician’s license, applicants are required to have two years (4,000 hours) of apprenticeship or two years (4,000 hours) work of experience in their trade. Applicants may apply up to two years (4,000 hours) of study in electrical courses to the work experience requirement. The limited technician exam is open-book, multiple-choice format and lasts two hours. The cost is $50 to file an application for a limited technician’s license, and $85 for the exam. The license costs $100 and is good until July 1 st of the third year after it was obtained.
