CAMPUS SUMMARY
At Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), theory is brought to life and reinforced for students through extensive integration of laboratory experimentation. Understanding theoretical concepts and knowing how to apply them is key to the success of MSOE graduates. Established in 1903, MSOE provides a climate for students to become well-rounded, technologically experienced graduates, and highly productive professionals and leaders. MSOE has a small university atmosphere within an exciting city environment. The 15-acre, user-friendly campus is located in a historic district downtown, just blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan. There are dozens of student activities, organizations, sororities and fraternities, and intercollegiate and intramural sports. Called 'The Genuine American City,' Milwaukee boasts hundreds off parks and miles of bike trails, a vibrant fine arts and cultural community, major and minor league sports, a brisk live-music scene, and is famous for its more than 50 annual festivals. The city also is a business, technological and industrial center, where opportunities for internships and jobs abound. The student body of 2,400 men and women comes from throughout the United States and numerous countries. Since its founding, the university has encouraged the enrollment of students of any race, color, creed or gender. Approximately half the full-time students live in three modern high-rise residence halls.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
If you like math and science, nothing’s better than hands-on, laboratory experience. At MSOE, you’ll spend more time in labs than in the classroom — an average of 600 laboratory hours while at MSOE.

In the classroom, you’ll feel like the center of attention with a 12-1 student-teacher ratio that allows for personal interaction. And you’ll never be taught by a teaching assistant. MSOE doesn’t use them. We use professors with plenty of industry experience.

Your individual attention will help you apply what you learn to real-life situations. Create models of buildings. Work on software programs. Build a hard drive. Write a business plan. Nurses work with real patients starting sophomore year.

If you’re interested in an internship, MSOE is in the right location. Many students get internships with well known companies — and many internships lead to jobs after graduation.

During your senior year, you’ll work with a group of other students, collaborating on a project for a real client. This intensive, real-world experience helps you apply what you learned in class, lab and during internships. And you also practice the all-important skill of working with others as you consider time, budget, location and much more.

You’ll feel at home in no time with plenty of events and more than 60 organizations to meet other students. Hang out in the Campus Center to chat, play games, shoot pool or eat. Or meet other students while staying fit in body and spirit. Work out, skate, run, play volleyball or another sport with friends all in the Kern Center.

MSOE students:
-Get high paying jobs after graduation — with an average starting salary of $49,500. (And 98% of the students have these jobs within six months.)
-Connect with their professors in small classrooms.
-Start their careers sooner. We guarantee you can graduate in four years if you stay on track.
