Colleges and universities within Pennsylvania provide a wide
array of choices with options ranging from two-year specialized
technical colleges, private two-year colleges, community
colleges and seminaries to doctoral and professional
degree-granting institutions serving students from all areas of
the Commonwealth. This rich mix of public and private
institutions, provides an extensive array of career choices for
students wishing to continue their studies on a full or
part-time basis. The colleges and universities within
Pennsylvania are distributed as follows:
A corporation based outside of Pennsylvania may apply to
conduct an educational enterprise within the Commonwealth.
Approximately 30 corporations are currently approved to
operate at specific locations within Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania does not have a religious exemption. The
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires that all institutions
have proper approval to operate regardless of curricular
content.
