Licensing Rules in North Dakota

You must have a license in North Dakota to work on any job costing $2,000 or more.

Applications for a contractor’s license may be obtained from the North Dakota Secretary of State’s Office at http://www.state.nd.us/sec/licensing/.

Applicants don’t have to take an exam to get a contractor's license, but they do have to provide proof that they don't owe any taxes and that they have workers' compensation and liability insurance.
