Campus Description:
New York Medical College is located in Westchester County, an
attractive suburb half an hour north of New York City. This
large private university with nearly 1,400 students and 3,000
faculty members educates physicians, scientists and healthcare
professionals in three schools: the School of Medicine,
conferring the M.D. degree, and two graduate schools: the
Graduate School of Basic Medical Sciences and the School of
Public Health, which award M.S., M.P.H., D.P.T., Dr.P.H. and
Ph.D. degrees in 43 advanced program areas. The university’s
network of 23 affiliated hospitals, including large urban
medical centers, small suburban hospitals and high-tech regional
tertiary care facilities, affords excellent clinical training.
As a health sciences university in the Catholic tradition, the
school upholds a special responsibility to the underserved, with
a deep awareness and recognition of the sacredness of all human
life.
