Campus Description:
Eugene Lang College is the distinctive liberal arts college of
The New School, a major urban university founded in 1919. The
college is distinguished by seminar classes and a highly
interdisciplinary curriculum. This permits the most direct
engagement of students with the material and encourages an
unusual degree of collaboration between faculty and student. The
faculty-student ratio is 1:9.
The curriculum emphasizes the social sciences, humanities and
arts. Freshman are taught in classes of no more than 15
students. The College's belief, that well-educated persons must
not be content with a received set of ideas but must be able to
pursue knowledge with sensitivity to its changing nature, makes
the classroom a central intellectual experience for students and
faculty.

Black Student Union, Choral Groups, Drama/Theater, Lang College
