Application Requirements:
For freshmen- HS transcript, SAT or ACT; portfolio for art
program applicants. All physician assistant applicants and all
students transferring into the physician assistant program must
apply through CASPA (Central Application Service for Physician
Assistants). For transfers- transcripts and statement of good
standing from prior institution(s) acceptable in lieu of SAT or
ACT.
Campus Description:
Daemen College is a private, four-year college with a 16:1
student to faculty ratio. The 35-acre campus is located in
suburban Buffalo, NY. Daemen offers a doctorate of physical
therapy, master's degrees and a wide range of baccalaureate
programs in the liberal arts, business, sciences, and
professional fields (health, education, design, and social
work). Internships and field experience are well integrated into
all professional programs. The service learning component of the
curriculum allows students in all majors to connect their
education with the community at large. The College provides
e-mail accounts for students and campus-wide access to the
Internet. About 88% of full-time undergraduates receive some
form of financial aid. The average award is $14,000.

Special Programs:
Thomas Reynolds Center for Special Education. The Reynolds
Center offers a unique after-school program to address the
academic, social and physical requirements of public school
special education students. The Center not only works to improve
the quality of life for students with disabilities, but also
offers training opportunities for education majors and teachers
of special education. Natural and Health Sciences Research
Center. Students collaborate with faculty on meaningful clinical
research early in their academic careers and gain the benefits
of working in the medical and health care industry to develop
products and co-author papers that are published nationally.
Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement. Daemen
operates a center designed to work with communities to help the
residents develop a good quality of life and a sense of personal
responsibility for community well-being. The Center offers a
rich variety of internships and service-learning opportunities
to Daemen students. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. The
Physical Therapy Department at Daemen offers a six-year
first-professional degree in physical therapy. Students are
awarded the Bachelor of Science in Natural Science degree at the
completion of the 4th year of study and the DPT at the
completion of the 6th year of study. The Doctor of Physical
Therapy credential recognizes the physical therapist as a fully
autonomous health care practitioner. Competency-based Core
Curriculum. Daemen's general education requirement consists of
seven core competencies that are accomplished within 15 courses
or 45 credit hours over the period of undergraduate study. The
competencies reflect higher-order life skills and abilities
expected of college graduates and valued by employers in a wide
range of fields.
