Campus Description:
Colgate's campus is set on a hillside overlooking the village of
Hamilton in rural central New York. Many of the older buildings
on campus are in a federal style. In details and materials many
of the newest buildings pick up elements of those historic
structures. A stream (Payne Creek) that runs through campus
feeds a small lake, along side which the college holds
commencement. The campus is often cited as one of the most
beautiful in the country.
Sports:
Varsity Sports: Women's: basketball, crew, cross-country,
field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball,
swimming/diving, tennis, track, volleyball. Men's:basketball,
crew, cross-country, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse,
soccer, swimming/diving, tennis, track.
Intramural Sports: Offered in 20 different activities.
Club Sports: Women's:basketball, golf, ice hockey,
lacrosse, martial arts, rugby, soccer, squash, volleyball, water
polo. Men's: golf, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, squash,
volleyball, water polo. Co-ed: badminton, baseball,
cricket, curling, equestrian, fencing, field hockey, figure
skating, juggling, martial arts, running, sailing, ski racing,
ski club, table tennis, tennis, ultimate frisbee.
