You may think that New
Hampshire's only claim to fame is its pivotal importance
to the U.S. presidential primaries. But it's also home
to the White Mountains, just about the tallest mountain
range in America's northeastern corridor. Dartmouth
College (the ninth oldest college in the land) also
makes its presence felt here, as do the bustling cities
of Concord, Manchester and Nashua.
The combined pull of the mountains and urban culture
has been a major lure to the high-tech industry, which
has seen both quality of life and a very attractive
state tax base as major incentives for corporate
relocation. Tourism is on the rise, too, with skiing and
outdoor sports at the top of the list for every New
Hampshire vacationer. So whether it's wood chips or
silicon chips you're after, we've unearthed a few
pointers to get you started.
