Community Colleges in Minnesota

Community colleges provide students with the first two years of a four-year college education. Graduates can transfer to other colleges and universities to complete a four-year degree. Community colleges offer occupational programs and training leading directly to jobs. Most offer a chance to participate in athletics, clubs and activities in theater, music and the arts. Community colleges generally offer small classes and can provide developmental and college preparatory courses for those who need to brush up on basic skills.

The Lowdown: Courses of study which transfer to four-year colleges, and one or two-year programs that prepare you for jobs.

Getting In: High school graduate or GED certificate (but prepare for college-level work with the recommended classes).
