Centre College
|
Centre College is known for the leadership of its widely
recognized academic program—Centre has the highest national U.S.
News ranking of any institution in Kentucky . The College is
also known for the unusual career success of graduates. Alumni
span the range of occupational possibilities from U.S. Vice
Presidents to Supreme Court Justices (including a Chief Justice)
to the founder of the Hard Rock Café.
The Centre record of accomplishment is based on a personal
approach to education and rigorous academic standards. Centre
students have out-of-the-ordinary opportunities to conduct
research with their professors, frequently co-authoring papers
with them and presenting the findings at professional
conferences.
The College also makes The Centre Commitment to its young men
and women: students who meet the college’s academic and social
expectations are guaranteed an internship, study abroad, and
graduation in four years—or the College will provide up to an
additional year of study tuition-free.
And Centre is known for having one of the nation’s top
international programs. Three out of four Centre students
participate in foreign study, the highest rate of any Kentucky
institution and in the top 10 in the nation.
Centre also plays a leadership role in a number of other ways,
being the state’s leader in entrance-test scores, and over the
past 20 years the nation’s leader in annual alumni-support
percentage.
