Nashville,
incorporated as a town December 20, 1892, is the county seat for
Berrien County. The name, like the Tennessee capital, was
derived from a distinguished soldier of the Revolutionary War,
General Francis Nash.
The
old jail and the Berrien County courthouse, both in Nashville,
are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The
town is located on U.S. 129 in the southwest region of the
state. The other incorporated municipalities in Berrien County
include Alapaha, Enigma and Ray City.
Nashville,
also known as the "City of Dogwoods", hosts the annual Dogwood
Festival in the spring.
