Living in Georgia
|
|
Some of Georgia's best souvenirs are food products. Pecans, for
example, are combined in every confection imaginable, including
log rolls, pralines and chocolate caramel turtles. Sample them
at River Street Sweets in Savannah. The northern part of the
state has become known for its innovative folk artists, whose
creations range from colorful, swirling paintings of Elvis to
pottery "mug jugs," to immense, intricate sculpture made from
discarded objects. The artists aren't clustered in one
particular town or county, so seeking them out is more of a
hit-or-miss odyssey along rural roads.
