Jacksonville is located at 225km north of Orlando. On
the wide St. Johns River in the northeast corner of
Florida, it is a major port and metropolitan area.
Jacksonville Landing, on the north bank of the river, is
the place to go for concerts, upscale shopping,
restaurants and entertainment. On both sides of the
river, explore Riverwalk's cafes, cultural activities
and the soaring Friendship Fountain, and on the south
bank, visit three museums --the Museum of Science and
History, the Maritime Museum and the Historical Society
Museum. The Kingsley Plantation State Historic Site on
Fort George Island -25km east of downtown Jacksonville
is the oldest plantation house in Florida.
