Living in Delaware

There is no sales tax in Delaware, making it an attractive place
for shopping. Some of the most interesting crafts, books and
other souvenir items are found at gift shops in the major
museums, such as Winterthur and Hagley. Over the state border,
in Pennsylvania, the Brandywine River Museum offers art-related
crafts. On Tuesdays and Fridays, one of the most unusual
shopping traditions is the auction and flea market at Spence's
Bazaar in Dover. For colorful quilts, pillows, potholders and
other handcrafted items made by area Amish and Mennonite women,
visit the Rose Valley Quilt Shop.
