Distance Learning in Alabama
|
High School:
Alabama On-line High School
Alabama Online High School supports equity in education by
providing courses and other educational services that bridge the
barriers of time and distance. The primary mission of Alabama
Online High School is to provide equal access to high school
courses, with particular emphasis on students in public schools
in Alabama.
Postsecondary:
Electronic Campus - Southern Regional Education Board
SREB's Electronic Campus was launched in January, 1998 as an
"electronic marketplace" of online courses and programs from the
South's regionally accredited (SACS) colleges and universities.
The Electronic Campus was designed to provide learning
opportunities from accredited colleges and universities that
offered courses and programs that exceed SREB's Principles of
Good Practice. By doing this, learners could be assured of the
quality and integrity of the courses and programs available in
the Electronic Campus, that comparable information would be
provided to help learners in making decisions that best met
their needs, and that learners could quickly and easily search
the large database of course and program offerings.
University Alliance Online
The University Alliance Online (UA) works with regionally
accredited universities to provide, via the Internet,
associate抯, bachelor抯 and master抯 degrees and continuing
education certificate programs in which no classroom attendance
is ever required. |
